CVPM – Practice Manager

Kristy has been working in the veterinary field since 1999, when she started as a receptionist at an animal hospital in Oceanside. Over the years, she expanded her knowledge and furthered her skills to become a hospital manager, and joined our team here at La Costa Animal Hospital in April 2005. In February 2009, Kristy earned her license as a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager, becoming one of the approximately 200 CVPMs in the country. Kristy takes great pride in her work, and is constantly learning and seeking ways to improve the quality of service clients and their pets receive. In her free time, Kristy enjoys movies, the San Diego Padres, and spending time with her family. She currently lives in Vista with her cat “Squitchie.”

Ashley

Ashley

Registered Veterinary Technician

Ashley has been involved in the veterinary field since she was thirteen years old, when she began volunteering at an animal hospital. Since that time, Ashley has grown within the field and has strengthened her skills tremendously, attributing much of her knowledge to the Mesa College Animal Health Technology program, from where she graduated in January 2007. Ashley passed the California State RVT boards in October 2008. She is very proud to have accomplished this goal and thoroughly enjoys working as an RVT. Ashley is a native San Diegan and has been an animal lover her whole life, having an assortment of pets over the years including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, birds, and even a pot-bellied pig. Ashley currently lives in San Diego with her two Rottweilers “Buddy” and “Charger,” and her Chihuahua mix “Princess.”

Receptionist

Jennifer has been involved in the veterinary field for 7 years. She started as a receptionist and worked her way up to the office manager position in Orange County, before working as a receptionist at an imaging specialist for 2 years. Jennifer then joined La Costa Animal Hospital in October of 2007, after moving to San Diego from Orange County. Jennifer’s genuine love and concern for all animals is evident through her hard work and positive attitude everyday. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She currently lives in Encinitas with her dogs “Edgar,” “Lex” and “Gizmo,” whom she loves taking to the park and the beach.

Melissa

Melissa

Veterinary Technician

Melissa was born and raised in the Bay area. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a BS in biology, she returned home and took a job as a kennel assistant to see what working in the veterinary field was all about. She immediately fell in love with it and began working to become a technician. Melissa attended the Foothill College Veterinary Technology program for a year before relocating to Maryland where she continued her education online. In 2008, Melissa relocated to the San Diego area and joined the La Costa Animal Hospital team in July. She has been working as a veterinary technician for 7 years now, and is currently pursuing self-study with the goal of taking the California RVT exam within the next year. Melissa resides in Oceanside with her husband and her Shar Pei mix “Sobi.”

Receptionist

Misty has been working in the veterinary field since 1989, and joined our practice in June 2006, where she works as our head receptionist. Misty maintains an unwavering positive attitude in our front office, and has a knack for bringing families comfort and peace of mind during their visits to our hospital. Misty takes great pride in her work, and is always striving to learn and improve. Misty currently resides in Vista with her husband Mike, her two teenaged boys Myles and Madison, her cats “Joey” and “Puss Puss,” and her shelter rescue dog “Ginger Rose.”
